National Novel Writing Month

Hello Everyone,

As this month draws to a close with Halloween as the final day of the month. Yes, I’m a Christian and I used the “Halloween” word.

“Oh no, you didn’t.”                                                                                              “Oh, Yes I did!”

We grew up in a small town and as we were young it was call HALLOWEEN and NOT trunk’r’treat. Really, change the name, hand out candy, listen to kids of all ages say, even scream, “Trick or Treat”, eat quite a lot of junk food, talk about which people hand out the best candy. How foolish of a thing, change the name of a holiday created by Christians, for everyone and get upset that other people want to join in and have fun.

Say it ain’t so. Well the word Halloween is a Christian invention. Okay, enough of that rant. I wasn’t going to talk about Halloween at all but changing the name every century or so is just stupid.

HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN!

Okay, I think thirty times is enough…HALLOWEEN! I feel better. Happy Halloween everyone.

If you could write anything, What would it be?

Well, tomorrow is the start of National Homeless Awareness Month, National Epilepsy Awareness Month, National Caregiver Month, and National Novel Writing Month. National Novel Writing Month is a big deal to many people as well as Sweets and I. I first participated in 2008 and I didn’t finish. I did start and then life got in the way. Being on the streets will do that. Limited time on a library computer will also contribute to not completing. This year I will attempt to actually finish my first event. I will be writing a fictionalized version of our adventures together. Specifically when we first became partners on the streets. National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo or NaNo may not seem all that important, without that first time attempting to finish that first story, this blog may not be here now. I enjoy writing and this is a great way to polish my writing skills and my writing style.

We encourage all of you to participate. Whether your goal is to participate in the 50,000 words in 30 days or to just brush up on your own writing skills this is a great way to meet other people, watch podcasts, and for you to get insight into you. It’s no secret that my posts have been short lately, and I take full credit for that shortness. I have a tendency to write way more than I actually need then I have to go back and shorten what I have written. This challenge should help quite a lot. Check out their site: https://nanowrimo.org/

You all have a GREAT HALLOWEEN!

Your faithfully, Sweets & Elroy
