Missive 27: 19 March 2019, Tuesday
Greetings from our family to yours and Welcome to another TrailMagick89 missive,
This is part five of a five part series about the term “denomination”.
In the first missive of this series on what denomination we each belong to I posted this, ‘Here is a passage to think about as you read through this series, John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. This verse sums up the rest of this discussion of Christian denominations.’ And it still holds true to what make a Christian a Christian, it would actually not be what we are called, however it is the One we follow.
There is quite a bit more that I could chat about from all of the above Scriptures, but I am not today going to do that, as I said earlier this is about, ‘What makes a Christian a Christian’ and ‘Is it the denomination we are a part of’. Actually all that these passages do is define what our denomination is not. And it also states very clearly that we are all of the same denomination. We are Christians.
So the argument that our denomination may or may not determine whether or not that we are a Christian. All the denomination is that we all, followers of Jesus Christ and sanctified by God the Father, does is label us as to what we are. Yes, there are subtle differences, yet there are basic beliefs that we as CHRISTIANS all have. Thank you for taking the time to read each post in this series.
This concludes part five. Our next series on ‘What makes a Christian a Christian’ begins on 19 March 2019.
