PVC Projects

21 March 2019, Thursday

Greetings from our family to yours and Welcome to another TrailMagick89 missive,

First off Happy Spring.

As we are going into Spring we are now starting a couple projects out of PVC. Both are simple and I will include the instruction on how to build both in the PVC projects category. The Trike Shed will be four feet wide by four feet high (on the short wall) by ten feet long. Our Trike is nine feet six inches long and since half inch PVC comes in ten feet lengths I figured why bother cutting them shorter. I am incorporating a slanted hinged roof as we get packages delivered once or twice a month and have something for the bigger packages to go into makes sense.

We will also be making a collapsible laundry rack. I will be using ten feet sections cut down to five feet sections. I plan on taking each pole and just sliding them into the upright legs so that we can break it down easier. We need something that we can hang bed sheets and heavy sweat shirts on that will not touch the ground but will allow for air flow through.

I understand that these two projects are nothing impressive however, both will be used with our tiny house. One important fact about the tiny house is the trike will be stored under the long counter along one side of the tiny house. The counter will be three feet high, four feet deep and ten feet long.

After these two projects are done then we will be making a stand for a manual hand crank tumble washing machine that we recently purchased, and a frame for a trekking pole tent we recently purchased the 3F UL Lanshan 2P 3 Season Backpacking Tent basically making it a free standing tent. The tent is similar to the Zpacks Duplex. In Michigan we get a lot of wet snow in the Winter. Once the tent frame and a remodel of the trike canopy frame are finished I will be redesigning them using aluminum tubing and fiberglass poles making both collapsible and lightweight.
